International School of Paris Action Project: A Students’ Initiative One Shared Mission
It all began with a simple yet powerful message: “Even a small seed has the power to become a big tree.” When Prasiddhi visited the International School of Paris in April 2026, she shared her inspiring tree-planting mission and vision with the school community, encouraging students to believe that every small action can create lasting change.
Primary students joined both in person and online, listening as she passionately spoke to the entire learning community. What followed after her visit was truly inspiring. There was a buzz across the school to help and support the mission. Over the next few weeks, three student-led action projects were formed with one shared purpose: to raise awareness about environmental action, foster a love for nature, and support our impact partner, Prasiddhi Forest Foundation.
Crocheting for a Cause
The first initiative came from a talented Grade 5 student who has been creating beautiful crochet items for a few years. Self-taught, this student dedicated her end-of-primary inquiry, the PYP Exhibition, to studying different crochet techniques while selling handmade creations as part of a fundraising initiative, donating all proceeds to Prasiddhi.
Over two months, the student created crochet flowers, bags, and tiny toys before setting up a shop on the playground. The response was overwhelming. The shop sold out quickly, raising around 250 euros. Her crafts were so popular she had to take orders for more.
“Crocheting helps me focus, and I like to make things,” the student shared.
Fluffy Pancake Cafe Fundraiser
The second initiative was led by a group of Grade 2 students, who, during their inquiry into How We Organise Ourselves, decided to create a Fluffy Pancake Cafe, donating all proceeds to the mission #TenMillionTrees.
Over the next six weeks, the students created agreements, delegated tasks, wrote and shared a proposal with their principal, created advertising posters, researched recipes, tested them at home, took inventory of the school kitchen supplies, went shopping for ingredients, and created an order sheet for the pancakes.
On the day of the cafe, they spent the morning measuring and mixing ingredients. Before lunch, they began cooking the pancakes and completing the orders from the previous day. Each whipped cream-topped pancake was sold for 1 euro, helping the team raise around 60 euros.
The students reflected on how much fun it was to make the pancakes while also recognising how much work went into creating the cafe. They were incredibly proud to donate the money they had raised to support our impact partner Prasiddhi Forest Foundation.
Earth Art Fundraiser Or Action CUBS' Earth Art Project
The third fundraising initiative came from the Action CUBS, a dedicated team of students from Grades 1 to 5 who meet weekly to build eco-awareness, promote sustainability, build community, and inspire positive daily actions towards big change.
A smaller team of Grade 2 and Grade 4 CUBS created an Earth Art project, dedicating its proceeds to the cause. Inspired by recycled cardboard plant holders created by the PTA for Teacher’s Day, they made their own versions, designed inspirational nature bookmarks, and painted pinecones and rocks.
While preparing for the project, the Grade 4 students went on a field trip to a local permaculture rooftop garden, where they learned how certain flowers and plants can be transformed into naturally flavoured tea. Inspired by this experience, they also decided to sell iced tea during their Nature Art Fair while teaching visitors about organic drinks.
On a warm summer day in June, the tea proved to be incredibly popular, and the team sold out.
The Green Impact of Three Student-Led Initiatives
Together, the three student-led initiatives raised a total of 440 euros in support of Prasiddhi Forest Foundation.
More than the funds raised, these projects reflected the creativity, commitment, teamwork, organisation, collaboration, and enthusiasm of the students, who chose to turn inspiration into meaningful action.
As our founder, Prasiddhi shared during her visit, one small seed can grow into a powerful tree. The students of the International School of Paris beautifully demonstrated that when many small seeds come together, they can grow into a thriving garden of caring global citizens determined to make the world a better place.
